How ActionMap Engages
Responsive to client needs and priorities
We designed the ActionMap Toolkit so that it can be applied with little or no prior knowledge of the procedures for you and your team, and little or no prior knowledge of the content area for us.  That means we can start quickly, and change direction quickly if needed.
While planning and preparation add value, the limiting factor in how fast we start
is usually how fast our clients can schedule the group meeting.
Our intent is that each session or session series that we conduct will produce a "standalone" unit of value.  While on-going relationships offer particular opportunities for creating customer value, we believe that the best service for our clients is to produce significant, lasting and independent value with each unit of delivery.
The steps we typically take to engage with a new client:
Demonstration Session.   We provide you with an on-line or in-person demonstration session* aimed at the business, technical and/or organizational area that you are focused on.
Demonstration sessions typically involve 60 to 90 minutes with
an evaluation group of from one to several people.
You see the procedures in operation, and also how your colleagues
respond to them.
Demonstration sessions regularly produce valuable insights about the problem at hand.  They also quickly qualify whether our services will be of value to you.
Demonstration sessions also show how the ActionMap Toolkit can be used to support ad-hoc discussions, on the spot, with no planning or preparation.
Proposal.   Based on your interest, we propose an engagement, which focuses on an initial work session or session series.
The proposal outlines the focus area for the session, the work product and "people" objectives, the general approach for applying the ActionMap Toolkit, and the criteria for identifying who should participate.
Our preference is to make a fixed bid that includes session planning, delivery
and follow-up.
Very often a one-day session or two half-day sessions will produce the breakthrough you are looking for, in terms of either specifying the solution you need, or clearly identifying an approach to defining the solution more precisely.
Proposal Review.   We review the proposal with you, and tailor it to your understanding and needs.
Letter of Agreement.   We execute a letter of agreement so that the work can get started while we coordinate with you on completing contract documents.
Scheduling and session delivery.   We schedule the session, coordinate logistics and other preparations, and deliver the session.
We most often deliver "in-person/flip chart" sessions as a two-person team to ensure that session time is highly productive both for the participants and for achieving the session objectives.
Session work product delivery and followup.   After the session, we compile and organize the session materials into a package, deliver and review the package with you, and conduct other followup activities that you have requested.  The session package is typically delivered within one or two business days. Key results can typically be made available either immediately or within a few hours.
Results Tracking.   Later, with your support, we conduct followup interviews to assess the value of the session and recommend ways to continue leveraging that value.
